Subscription, Billing & Refund Terms
These Subscription, Billing & Refund Terms apply to SpendCaddie plans, trials, subscriptions, billing, cancellations, entitlements, and refunds. They supplement the Terms of Service.
1. Plans and feature access
SpendCaddie may offer Free and Pro plans. Feature availability may vary by platform, subscription status, launch phase, and technical availability.
1.1 Free plan
The Free plan is intended to provide meaningful debt-planning value. It may include:
- up to 5 manual debts;
- real plan generation;
- manual payment logging;
- strategy comparison;
- basic progress and debt-planning features; and
- no linked financial accounts.
Free users may not connect Plaid accounts or linked debt accounts.
1.2 Pro plan
The Pro plan may include:
- linked debt accounts through Plaid;
- automated account, balance, transaction, and liability refreshes where available;
- promotional APR and deferred-interest intelligence;
- richer alerts;
- AI explanations;
- report exports;
- household features; and
- other Pro features made available from time to time.
A privacy/data-rights export is not a Pro-only feature. Report exports, analytics exports, PDF/CSV/Markdown reports, or similar product exports may be Pro-only.
2. Current launch pricing
Current launch pricing is:
- Pro Monthly: $9.99 per month, plus applicable taxes;
- Pro Annual: $99.99 per year, plus applicable taxes; and
- Trial: 14 days where offered and supported by the applicable platform.
Pricing may vary based on platform, promotions, taxes, currency, App Store configuration, RevenueCat configuration, provider fees, or changes we make before or after launch.
If pricing changes, we will provide notice where required by law or provider rules. Your continued use after a price change takes effect may require acceptance through Stripe, Apple, RevenueCat, or another provider flow.
3. Trials
SpendCaddie may offer a 14-day trial for eligible web subscriptions through Stripe. Mobile trial eligibility, availability, and exact terms may depend on Apple App Store and RevenueCat product configuration.
A trial may require a payment method upfront. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your subscription may automatically convert to a paid subscription and you may be charged the applicable subscription fee plus taxes.
Trial availability may be limited by account, device, payment method, email address, prior subscription history, provider rules, abuse-prevention controls, or promotion terms.
We will provide trial, renewal, material-change, cancellation, and acknowledgment notices where required by applicable law, provider rules, or the applicable platform. Some notices may come directly from Stripe, Apple, RevenueCat, or another provider. You are responsible for reviewing trial dates, renewal dates, subscription status, billing settings, and provider notices, and for canceling before renewal if you do not want to be charged.
4. Automatic renewal
Paid subscriptions automatically renew until canceled. By starting a paid subscription or trial that converts to a paid subscription, you authorize recurring charges through the applicable provider.
- Web subscriptions renew through Stripe.
- iOS subscriptions renew through Apple In-App Purchase.
- RevenueCat manages entitlement and subscription status for app access.
We do not promise a separate SpendCaddie-generated renewal reminder for every monthly renewal unless required by applicable law or provider rules. Where applicable law or provider rules require a renewal notice, trial notice, written acknowledgment, cancellation information, or material-change notice, SpendCaddie will provide or rely on the applicable provider/platform flow to provide those notices.
5. Payment processing
5.1 Web billing through Stripe
For web subscriptions, Stripe processes payment methods, checkout, billing portal, invoices, payment failures, cancellations, and related provider events. SpendCaddie may receive subscription metadata from Stripe but does not store full payment card numbers.
5.2 iOS billing through Apple and RevenueCat
For iOS subscriptions, Apple processes payments, renewals, cancellations, refunds, tax collection, and subscription management according to Apple's terms. SpendCaddie uses RevenueCat to manage entitlement and subscription status.
Apple may handle trial eligibility, introductory offers, refunds, billing issues, and cancellation timing according to Apple's own policies.
6. Taxes
Subscription prices may not include taxes. You are responsible for applicable taxes, fees, and charges. Stripe, Apple, or another provider may calculate, collect, remit, or display taxes according to provider rules.
7. Cancellation
7.1 Web subscriptions
You may cancel a web subscription through the SpendCaddie billing portal, account billing settings, or another Stripe-supported cancellation flow made available in the Service.
Cancellation generally prevents future renewal charges but does not necessarily provide a refund for the current billing period. Access may continue until the end of the paid period unless provider rules or account status indicate otherwise.
7.2 iOS subscriptions
You must cancel iOS subscriptions through Apple subscription settings. SpendCaddie cannot directly cancel an Apple subscription for you through the SpendCaddie account deletion flow.
Apple controls the effective cancellation date, refund eligibility, billing issue handling, and renewal status for iOS subscriptions.
7.3 Account deletion does not cancel subscriptions
Deleting your SpendCaddie account does not automatically cancel any active subscription.
Before deleting your account, cancel any active web subscription through the SpendCaddie billing portal or cancel any active iOS subscription through Apple subscription settings. If you delete your account without canceling, Stripe, Apple, RevenueCat, or another payment provider may continue billing until you cancel through the applicable provider.
8. Failed payments and billing issues
If a payment fails, your provider may retry the charge, update your subscription status, notify you, or restrict subscription access. SpendCaddie may receive failed-payment or billing-issue events and may send transactional notices.
If your subscription becomes past due, canceled, expired, or otherwise invalid, we may downgrade, suspend, or restrict Pro features.
Provider billing behavior, retry schedules, grace periods, and entitlement timing may vary and are not fully controlled by SpendCaddie.
9. Plan changes, upgrades, downgrades, and proration
Plan changes may be handled through Stripe, Apple, RevenueCat, or other provider flows. Proration, immediate charges, credits, downgrade timing, renewal dates, and entitlement changes depend on the applicable platform and provider rules.
If you downgrade from Pro to Free, Pro-only features may become unavailable. Linked-account access, AI explanations, report exports, household features, richer alerts, and other Pro-only features may be restricted or disabled.
10. Refunds
Refunds are not guaranteed.
10.1 Web subscriptions
For web subscriptions, refund requests may be submitted to support@spendcaddie.com. We may review refund requests in our discretion and according to applicable law, Stripe provider rules, account status, charge history, fraud/abuse concerns, and the circumstances of the charge.
A refund does not guarantee continued Pro access. If a refund is issued, we may cancel, downgrade, suspend, or modify subscription access.
10.2 iOS subscriptions
Apple handles refund requests for iOS subscriptions purchased through Apple In-App Purchase. You must request iOS refunds through Apple. SpendCaddie cannot guarantee Apple refunds or override Apple's refund decisions.
10.3 No automatic refunds for nonuse
Unless required by law or provider rules, we generally do not provide refunds for:
- forgetting to cancel;
- not using the Service;
- deleting your account without canceling a subscription;
- partial billing periods;
- delayed data from a third-party provider;
- feature changes or temporary unavailability;
- dissatisfaction with advisory outputs or estimates; or
- inability to use Pro features due to user device, bank, provider, or account issues.
11. Promotions and offers
Promotions, discounts, trial offers, coupons, or beta offers may be subject to additional terms. We may modify or terminate offers at any time, unless prohibited by law or provider rules.
12. Entitlement errors
Subscription entitlement can depend on Stripe, Apple, RevenueCat, network connectivity, webhook processing, account matching, and provider status. If you believe your entitlement is incorrect, contact support@spendcaddie.com.
We may need reasonable time to investigate provider events and reconcile account status.
