Child Safety & Age Eligibility Policy

Version: 2.0Effective Date: May 21, 2026Last Updated: May 21, 2026

SpendCaddie is a U.S.-only consumer debt planning and debt coaching service intended only for adults. This policy explains SpendCaddie's age eligibility rules and how we handle reports involving minors.

1. Age requirement

SpendCaddie is intended only for users who are at least 18 years old.

By creating an account, accepting the Terms of Service, or using the Service, you represent that you are at least 18 years old and are legally able to enter into a binding agreement.

2. Self-certification

SpendCaddie relies on user self-certification at signup. We do not currently perform date-of-birth verification, identity-based age verification, or automated age screening.

You must not create an account if you are under 18. You must not invite or authorize a minor to use SpendCaddie, including through household features.

3. Not directed to children

SpendCaddie is not directed to children under 13 and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

SpendCaddie handles sensitive consumer financial information and debt-planning data. Minors are not permitted to use the Service.

4. Reports involving minors

If you believe a minor has created an account or provided personal information to SpendCaddie, contact privacy@spendcaddie.com with:

  • the account email address, if known;
  • your relationship to the minor;
  • a description of the issue; and
  • contact information where we can follow up.

We may request information reasonably necessary to verify the report and protect the account holder's privacy.

5. How we respond

If we determine that a user is under 18 or that personal information was provided by a minor, we will review the account and take appropriate action. This may include:

  • disabling or restricting the account;
  • deleting or deactivating personal information in active systems;
  • disconnecting linked financial accounts where applicable;
  • preserving limited records needed for legal, security, billing, fraud-prevention, audit, dispute-resolution, or compliance purposes; and
  • responding to the reporting parent, guardian, or user where appropriate.

We do not promise an automatic 48-hour deletion workflow. We will review reports promptly and handle them according to applicable law, verification requirements, technical limitations, and safety considerations.

6. Household features

Household features, if available, are intended only for adult users with separate authorized accounts. You must not invite minors or add minor-owned financial information to SpendCaddie.

7. Account deletion and subscriptions

Deleting or disabling an account does not automatically cancel any active subscription. Web subscriptions must be canceled through the SpendCaddie billing portal or Stripe-supported flow, and iOS subscriptions must be canceled through Apple subscription settings.
