1. Your Privacy Rights
At SpendCaddie, we believe you should be in control of your data. This document explains how you can manage your consent and privacy preferences.
2. Types of Consent
2.1 Required Consents
When you create a SpendCaddie account, you must agree to:
- Terms of Service: Our contract with you for using SpendCaddie
- Privacy Policy: How we collect, use, and protect your data
- E-Sign Consent: Agreement to receive electronic communications
- Age Verification: Confirmation that you are 18 or older
2.2 Optional Consents
You may optionally consent to:
- Marketing emails: Tips, product updates, and promotions
- SMS notifications: Text alerts for account activity
- Push notifications: Mobile app alerts
- Analytics cookies: Help us understand how you use the service
- Advertising cookies: Personalized ads (we don't currently use these)
3. Managing Your Preferences
3.1 Cookie Preferences
You can manage cookie preferences in several ways:
- Click “Customize” on the cookie consent banner
- Visit Settings → Privacy
- Use your browser's cookie settings
3.2 Communication Preferences
Manage how we contact you:
- Visit Settings → Notifications
- Click “Unsubscribe” in any marketing email
- Reply STOP to any SMS message
3.3 Privacy Center
Our Privacy Preference Center allows you to:
- View and download your consent history
- Update your privacy preferences
- Exercise your data rights
- Opt out of data sales (CCPA)
4. Global Privacy Control (GPC)
We honor the Global Privacy Control signal. When detected:
- We automatically disable non-essential cookies
- We treat it as a “Do Not Sell or Share” request
- Your preferences are applied immediately
5. Your Data Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of your personal data
- Correct: Fix inaccurate information
- Delete: Request erasure of your data
- Portability: Export your data in a portable format
- Restrict: Limit how we process your data
- Object: Opt out of certain processing activities
To exercise these rights, visit Settings → Privacy or email privacy@spendcaddie.com.
6. Consent History
We maintain a complete record of your consent history, including:
- What you consented to
- When you gave or withdrew consent
- The version of the document you agreed to
- How consent was captured (web, mobile, API)
You can view and download this history from your Privacy Center.
7. Withdrawing Consent
You can withdraw consent at any time for optional consents. Note that:
- Withdrawal doesn't affect lawfulness of prior processing
- Withdrawing required consents may limit your ability to use the service
- Some data may be retained for legal compliance
8. Children's Privacy
SpendCaddie is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. See our Child Safety Policy for more information.
9. Changes to Your Preferences
Changes to your preferences take effect immediately. However:
- Email preferences may take up to 48 hours to fully propagate
- Cookie changes take effect on your next session
- Data deletion requests are processed within 30 days
