Consent & Communication Preferences

Version: 2.0Effective Date: May 21, 2026Last Updated: May 21, 2026

This policy explains how Bobby Built Ventures, LLC d/b/a SpendCaddie ("SpendCaddie," "we," "us," or "our") manages consent records, communication preferences, cookie preferences, notification preferences, and opt-out choices.

SpendCaddie may record consents and preference changes, including:

  • Terms of Service acceptance;
  • Privacy Policy acknowledgement;
  • E-Sign Consent acceptance;
  • 18+ age eligibility self-certification;
  • cookie preferences;
  • marketing email preferences;
  • push notification preferences;
  • data-rights requests;
  • account deletion confirmations;
  • Plaid authorization through Plaid Link;
  • subscription or trial actions through provider flows; and
  • other consents presented through the Service.

Consent records may include policy version, timestamp, IP address, user agent, consent text, consent source, account ID, and audit metadata where available. These records may be retained as described in the Privacy Policy and Data Retention Notice.

2. Required and optional consents

Some consents are required to use SpendCaddie, such as acceptance of Terms, Privacy Policy acknowledgement, E-Sign Consent, and 18+ self-certification.

Some choices are optional, such as marketing email preferences, analytics cookies, push notifications, and certain account or product preferences.

If you withdraw or decline a required consent, we may not be able to provide the Service and may need to restrict or close your account.

3. Email communications

3.1 Transactional and service emails

SpendCaddie may send transactional and service emails necessary to operate the Service, including:

  • account notices;
  • security notices;
  • billing and subscription notices;
  • trial notices where supported;
  • payment-failure notices;
  • policy update notices;
  • support responses;
  • data-rights request notices;
  • linked-account notices;
  • account deletion confirmations or notices; and
  • other administrative communications.

You may not be able to opt out of transactional or service emails while maintaining an active account because they are necessary to provide the Service.

3.2 Marketing emails

SpendCaddie may send marketing or promotional emails if you opt in, where permitted by law, or where another lawful basis applies. You can manage marketing email preferences in account settings where available or by contacting support@spendcaddie.com.

Marketing email opt-outs do not affect transactional or service emails.

4. SMS/text messages

SpendCaddie does not currently send SMS/text-message alerts, SMS marketing, or SMS-based MFA.

If we introduce SMS features in the future, we will update this policy and provide legally required consent, message-frequency information, carrier disclosures, STOP/HELP or equivalent opt-out instructions, and revocation workflows before enabling SMS features.

5. Push notifications

SpendCaddie may offer push notifications through the iOS app, browser push, Expo, or platform providers. Push notifications may include service messages, account alerts, reminders, and product notifications depending on your settings.

Push notifications require device or browser permission. You can disable push notifications through SpendCaddie settings where available and through device or browser settings. Disabling push notifications may prevent you from receiving certain alerts, but does not cancel your account or subscription.

Do not rely solely on SpendCaddie push notifications for creditor due dates, minimum payments, autopay, account balances, or urgent financial decisions.

SpendCaddie provides cookie and analytics preferences as described in the Cookie Policy. You may be able to:

  • accept optional analytics;
  • reject optional analytics;
  • manage cookie categories;
  • use browser settings to block or clear cookies; and
  • use Global Privacy Control or similar signals.

Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights are consent-gated in SpendCaddie-controlled code. Essential authentication, security, operational, fraud-prevention, billing, and provider logs may still occur even if optional analytics are disabled.

7. Global Privacy Control and universal opt-out signals

When SpendCaddie detects Global Privacy Control or a similar universal opt-out signal, we apply it to SpendCaddie-controlled cookie and preference settings where applicable and technically feasible.

SpendCaddie does not currently sell personal information or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not currently use advertising cookies or ad pixels.

Universal opt-out signals may not control essential technologies, provider-hosted flows, security processing, transactional communications, or processing necessary to provide the Service you requested.

8. Plaid authorization and linked accounts

When you connect a financial account through Plaid, Plaid presents its own authorization flow. By completing the Plaid Link flow, you authorize Plaid and SpendCaddie to access and process read-only financial account data needed to provide the Service.

You may disconnect linked accounts where available in the Service. SpendCaddie will attempt to remove the Plaid connection and delete or deactivate local connection records. External providers may retain records according to their own legal obligations and retention practices.

9. Privacy rights and data requests

You may submit privacy requests through account settings where available or by emailing privacy@spendcaddie.com. Requests may include access, correction, deletion, export, opt-out, appeal, or other rights where applicable.

We may need to verify your identity before processing a request. Some records may be retained for legal, security, billing, fraud-prevention, audit, dispute-resolution, or compliance reasons.

10. Account deletion and subscriptions

Deleting your SpendCaddie account does not automatically cancel active subscriptions. Before deleting your account, cancel web subscriptions through the SpendCaddie billing portal and iOS subscriptions through Apple subscription settings.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the Service, email, updated policy date, or another reasonable method.
